Autism Care (UK) Limited benefits from the services of a consultant clinical psychologist and full-time assistant psychologists. The team encourages residents and staff to adopt a consistent and positive approach to living and working with autistic spectrum disorders and Asperger's Syndrome. This is achieved by several methods, including staff training, workshops and individually designed psychological interventions for managing challenging behaviour.

Psychological interventions include Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, social skills training, positive programming and group work, where appropriate. All are based on a positive, non-aversive approach to behaviour change and are designed to improve the individual's quality of life. All of the clinical work is supervised by the consultant clinical psychologist, and the assistants work with the staff in implementing and maintaining interventions by attending staff and key-worker meetings.
