Autism Care (UK): TEACCH

TEACCH

The Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication-handicapped Children (and adults), or TEACCH, is a method for evaluating a person's skill level, which is vital for the development of individual programmes and strategies.

Its main priority is to enable individuals to function meaningfully, productively and as independently as possible within their community. It provides visually presented strategies such as daily schedules and methods for coping with change.

We have several TEACCH assistants; all of whom have completed professional workshops and advanced training. The TEACCH method has been very successful and is reflected in our success during our National Autistic Society accreditation programme.
