Referral process
All Autism Care (UK) Limited service users must meet the following basic criteria for placement:
- displays characteristics of autistic spectrum disorders and/or learning disabilities
- is over 16 years of age
- is likely to be suitable
- has identified funding.
More detailed information will then be passed on to the General Manager of the service that seems most appropriate for the individual, and usually a visit will then be arranged to assess specific care needs. If a placement is offered, the Operational Manager will discuss the proposed care plan and cost with the referring agency, which will lead to a formal offer of placement and a period of transition for the new resident.
