Psychology department

Autism Care's behaviour team is headed up by our psychology department which has both consultant and assistant psychologists.

Every area of Autism Care benefits from this department. Referrals are generated by the individual services and then responded to, by the department, within two weeks of a referral being received.

The psychology department provides many different forms of assessments, functional analysis and cognitive behaviour therapy alongside other specifically identified treatment for individuals.

Support plans are implemented to meet behavioural needs and specifically designed monitoring forms are used to assess behaviour. This means that any change in behaviour is flagged up immediately and responded to appropriately. Where a need is identified as a result of a specific behaviour the psychology department provides training for the staff in these areas and ongoing support is available every day.
