Autism Care provides day opportunities and resource solutions to people with a diversity of needs and abilities. We provide support and interactive activities during the day, in the evenings and at weekends. The activities are tailored to each individual based on their desires and abilities and their families requirements. This has resulted in bespoke support solutions being developed around individuals in a truly person centred way.
We feel it is important to understand each individual's desired outcomes, to be able to develop activity programmes which are both productive and beneficial to the service user. This approach helps to reduce anxieties and can provide high-quality relaxation or stimulation, whilst utilising local community resources.
We endeavour to actively promote a culture of positive risk taking and management throughout all of our services.
What the service users' families say:
One service user's mother praised the staff for taking her son shopping. She mentioned that she doesn't panic about shopping anymore as his behaviour has changed for the better.
The care manager then went on to talk about lunches out and explained that he was always able to choose his own food from the menu. The service user's mother said that he is now helping at home due to the work and efforts from the Day Care Centre. He also helps with his baby sister and walks everywhere. They are proud to say that family and friends have noticed a huge difference in his behaviour.
