Behaviour Team
People with Autism and learning disabilities have specific learning and support needs. Through our dedicated behaviour team, we are able to assess people's needs when they are experiencing anxieties or distress that may lead to challenging behaviour. Our specialist behavioural team provide a multi-disciplinary approach to behavioural analysis and intervention.
The team consists of consultant and assistant psychologists, Non Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention Instructors (N.A.P.P.I), Treatment and Education of Autistic and related communication-handicapped children and adults (T.E.A.C.C.H.), ABA trained staff and Safeguarding Adults representatives.
People are generally referred to the team following a significant change in behaviour. The team will then assess the individual and identify their needs to implement strategies to support them. Supporting staff will then monitor the effectiveness of these strategies to ensure the appropriate measures are being taken in order to help and encourage the service user.
